Influenster: Jolly VoxBox

Published January 4, 2014 by beautyandmusic95

Disclaimer: I was sent everything in the Jolly VoxBox for review from Influenster.

For those of you that aren’t aware, Influenster is an online company, that is completely free to join, that provides products to people that are active on social media to review. Any product you may receive from Influenster will be free, and there are tasks that you have to complete for the product.

Now on to the Jolly VoxBox

The Jolly VoxBox included several fun products.

  • Skinny Cow Candy: in creamy peanut butter and chocolate
  • Ducklings Mini Roll: ducktape
  • Rimmel London NEW Show Off Lip Lacquer: in 101 Celestial
  • NYC New York Color HD Color Trio Eye Shadow: in 781 Long Beach Sands
  • and Puffs Ultra Soft & Strong To Go Tissue Pack

Lets start with the Skinny Cow Candy

These candies aren’t only low in calories, they’re also high in flavor. The candies are a milk chocolate shell filled with super creamy peanut butter. The peanut butter is almost the consistency of a caramel filling, and the chocolate is firm enough to prevent the candies from breaking and losing that delicious filling. The chocolates taste like a more luxurious version of a peanut butter cup. A full box, of 6 pouches of candy, is only $3.99 making these candies an affordable, low calorie, and also delicious alternative to regular chocolate.

Who doesn’t love fun colored duct tape right? Well that’s exactly what Ducklings Mini Rolls are.

Ducklings Mini Rolls are adorably small rolls of fun patterned duct tape. These tiny rolls are perfect for small projects that need a little extra spice. The tape is very easy to tear off of the roll, but not so easy to tear off of the things you stick it to. I used my little roll to decorate my otherwise plain lap desk.

Rimmel London Show Off Lip Lacquer

The Show Off Lacquer that I received is a medium pink color. The product is very pigmented, and goes on glossy. As far as lasting power goes, this will stay on your lips for several hours as long as you don’t eat or drink a lot while wearing it. After awhile the glossy finish will wear off, and leave the product looking more satiny.

NYC: New York Color HD Color Eyeshadow Trio

ImageThe eyeshadow trio that I received is very neutral. The shadows feel really soft, much like a higher end eyeshadow, but the pigmentation doesn’t really stand the test. The only shade that gives off a lot of pigmentation, both when swatched and on the eye, is the middle one. And that’s only if it’s applied pretty heavily. The two end colors barely show up in swatches and on the eye.

Puffs Ultra Soft & Strong tissues

ImageI think most people have experience with puffs tissues. These tissues are very soft on the nose, but strong enough to not tear or anything. They aren’t scented.

NYC Big Bold Lip Gloss

Published November 9, 2013 by beautyandmusic95

This lip gloss was provided to me by Influenster for review and testing. Image

This gloss goes on really smoothly and isn’t sticky at all. Like with all smooth, non sticky glosses the staying power of this one isn’t perfect. If applied over chapstick, this lipgloss stays around just a bit longer. I didn’t notice much plumping or pigmentation from this gloss.

Dr. Scholl’s For Her High Heel Insoles

Published July 12, 2013 by beautyandmusic95

I received a pair of Dr. Scholl’s For Her High Heel Insoles from influenster in my sunkissed voxbox. Out of everything in the sunkissed voxbox I was most excited for these insoles. I took them out of the packaging and stuck them in my favorite strappy summer wedges, which just happen to be uncomfortable. The insoles are quite squishy and provide a lot of padding for your foot. I wish there was a little more padding in the toe area of the insole, but I understand why there isn’t. These insoles make wearing heels more possible. The only thing about the insoles that I’m not satisfied with is the adhesive that holds the insole into the shoe. The adhesive isn’t strong enough for smooth insoled shoes. The insoles slip and slide in my wedges when I’m not wearing them. This causes me to have to reposition the insoles everytime I want to wear the shoes. The insoles also pick up dirt, and anything else that may be on your feet, which isn’t ideal either.

Olay Fresh Effects: BB Cream

Published July 1, 2013 by beautyandmusic95

The Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream is the only BB Cream that I’ve tried. The BB Cream’s formula helps to blend multiple makeup steps into one easy, time saving application.

Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream offers the user six skincare benefits in one application. The cream offers SPF 15, moisturizes skin for 24 hours, makes skin feel softer and smoother, refreshes skin, and provides a radiant glow with sheer coverage.

Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream comes in a variety of colors to suit multiple skin tones. The cream itself has a scent that is fairly strong, and can be smelled for several minutes after being applied to the face. The scent is pleasant though.

I received the BB Cream from Influenster to test and review. The shade I received is Fair to Light and it matches my fair skin very well. The coverage the cream provides is light, but comfortable. The cream simplifies my beauty routine by eliminating extra steps. It’s no longer necessary for me to apply a moisturizer, sunscreen, and tinted product. Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream combines all of these steps into one easy application and saves tons of time in the morning.

Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream can be purchased at , , and in other places that sell Olay Fresh Effects Products.

Hello High School Students!

Published March 14, 2012 by beautyandmusic95

Oh jeeze. It’s been quite awhile since I’ve posted something here. You, my lovely readers, can blame a tightly packed school schedule for that. I figured that I should probably inform you of my current place in the horrible world of high school and my path to college.

Alright, to start off with, I’m currently in the second semester of my junior year. I’ll be starting my senior year in September. My current “course load” (to quote my boyfriend) for this semester consists of Civics, Physics, AP Biology, Algebra II, AP English Language and Composition, German III, and a gym class.

To go along with that second semester of junior year, prom shopping and planning has been taking place. So far I’ve purchased shoes (which are rediculously high and I must learn to walk in), I’ve found my hair stylist, decided where I’m getting my nails done, as well as made the appointment, and began paying for my dress. For those of you that are currently shopping for your proms, or any other kind of formal dance, and are having a difficult time finding something that falls within the budget that your parents/who ever is paying for your dress, I suggest taking them shopping with you and allowing them to see dress prices and such for themselves. It can really help them understand the problem.

Moving on… If you’ve ever taken an AP class you know how much work goes into them. Right now, I spend about five hours a week just reading and taking notes out of my AP Biology text book. That amount of time doesn’t include any written assignments that are assigned for the class. On top of that Biology work I have 2-3 assignments for AP English, 2-3 Algebra II assignments, as well as various other assignments in my other classes to complete each weak. If you’re in high school and you aren’t taking a foreign language, I highly recommend that you do. Even though learning a foreign language can be a lot of work, it pays off in the end, and a lot of colleges actually require foreign language credits.

While I have just used my school schedule as an excuse for not posting here, I will not personally tolerate my own slacking any longer. I can make time to type up a quick post.

Now that you’ve read so much about my boring school life that your eyeballs hurt, I’ll end this post.

Happy spring break! Be safe!

Coming soon…….. Blogs that I follow/ youtubers that I watch, how to organize your locker, must haves for a school bag, prom: everything you need to know, and many more.
